Music > football.


I chose music instead of "art" because
1) = (more simple math)
2) How am I supposed to convey the concept of art in a 48x56 pixel space??

I chose football instead of any other sport because
1) Football is the most popular and most expencive sport in America
2) I have nothing against most other sports, and volleyball really isn't very popular.


Because of having been a very willing member of my school's pep band for what is now my third year, I'm one of those rare girls that does not come from an athletic family, and have a boyfriend to impress with sports knowledge, but still mostly understands and kind of likes football.

So normally, I don't have anything against football. I'll even say that the star of our football team isn't a complete dumbass. He even took yogilates last semester and wasn't at all embarrassed about it.

HOWEVER!!
I've heard that my school's PSO is hurting for members of their leadership positions, and may soon cease to exist.
The PSO is the group that organizes most of the school's fundraisers.
If fundraisers take a dive, budget takes a dive.
And as everyone knows, when budget cuts come, Music is the first department to suffer, along with the rest of the art department. (And meanwhile, the sports and physical education departments don't lose a single dollar of their budget.)

And when you f*** around with band, I get a little bit testy.


UPDATE: Feb. 25
I heard, at the Quad Concert last night, that a nearby school district has completely cut the music and sports departments from all their schools.
To be honest, I'm frightened for the sakes of our freshmen, and the middle and elementary-schoolers we were playing with last night.
Damn credit crisis...
