Description

Name: Dante (may occasionally introduce himself as “that guy with the ice cream truck” or “the ice cream guy,”)
Age: 22 23
Gender: Male
Pokemon: Glaceon
Height: 5’7”
Bodystyle: feminine
Birthday: January 8
Home Island: Rapture Retreat
Personality: Outgoing and friendly, Dante loves to meet people and chat with everybody, but he tends puts his foot in his mouth by accident. (figuratively, not literally.) He thinks of everyone as a friend, (especially his customers) and sometimes has trouble fully understanding the concept of “personal boundaries”, as seen in his habit of flirting with his customers. He also has a bad habit of asking questions that could be considered a bit too personal for the ice cream guy to ask. Though he tries to make friends with everyone, he tends to fail because he often blurts out really stupid or inconsiderate things, and also has a bad habit of inviting himself to hang out with people, and tends to interpret the phrase “treat others as you wish to be treated” as meaning that anything that he wouldn’t mind having done to himself, is okay to do to others. He tries to be peppy and happy around people, but he does enjoy a little bit of quiet alone time every once in a while. (Nobody can be peppy all the time, right?) Often takes a while to realize that something should be done, but when he gets a crazy idea, he's more likely than most to follow through with it. Despite his friendliness, and love of fun, he seems to always have business in the back of his mind.

History: Dante’s parents run a small bakery in his hometown. When he was old enough, (meaning tall enough to see over the counter while standing on a stool) his parents started him working at the counter, selling his mom’s tasty treats and chatting with the customers. His parents were surprised and grateful that Dante absolutely loved this job, (the points he gained with his classmates when he brought in day-old cookies to share weren’t bad, either) and, though many of their customers were confused by being waited on by a little kid, some found him to be quite charming. Dante was also glad that his parents rarely asked him to help his mother to bake, because he couldn’t, as the saying goes, stand the heat in the kitchen. His very social job of running the shop counter for multipule hours in a day starting at a young age, coupled with his father's almost nutty, fun-loving personality, made Dante into the outgoing goofball that he became.
Every day when he was finished with his work, he would take his earnings (and sometimes his schoolwork) to the nearby ice cream shop. He loved hanging out and eating away his earnings in ice cream, and often chatting with whoever was working there at the time. When he was old enough, he got a job at the ice cream shop. He loved making and serving ice cream, and discussing the finer points of ice cream making with his boss, co-workers, and whoever would listen. It was working there that caused him to evolve into a Glaceon.
In high school, Dante had several close friends, (not to mention multiple girlfriends and a boyfriend over the four years) many not-so-close friends, (the kind that you wave at and say “hi” to as you pass them in the hallway) and the usual crowd of kids who just thought he was weird. Dante wasn’t the most brilliant student, as he always put his job first, friends and family second, and everything else including schoolwork later. (Many of his class notes were filled with notes involving quantities of cream, sugar, and other ice cream ingredients.) Dante’s best classes in high school were cooking, yoga, and math. His skill in math was due to frequent practice behind the ice cream shop counter. Though his cooking teacher claimed he had “natural talent”, his skill in that class was really due to his mom making him practice almost every night. Though he put on a pleasant face about the class, (and he liked receiving compliments from a teacher) he switched electives as soon as he had the opportunity. Due to input from several friends, he chose to take a yoga class his sophomore year, which he loved, and wound up taking it again for the last two years of high school, and continues to practice nearly every morning.
When Dante’s friends and teachers started talking about college and future plans, Dante decided that he wanted to start his own ice cream business. He started saving his money so he could afford to purchase an ice cream truck by the time he graduated. That summer (and for several summers after) he enjoyed the freedom of driving around wherever and whenever he wanted, experimenting with whatever ice cream recipes he chose, taking breaks and ending his work day whenever he felt like, and otherwise being his own boss. He was prone to, on slow days, driving to his friends’ houses (sometimes announced, sometimes not) to treat them and hang out, or, when he passed a group of people he knew, practically inviting himself to spend the day with them. During the winter he supplied income for his moderately “high lifestyle” (going to bars, movies, nightclubs, restaurants, and the like, all with friends of course) by continuing to work at the old ice cream shop, and in his parents’ bakery. (He still lived with them)
Eventually, his friends became busier and more wrapped up in their own lives, and it dawned on Dante (after a month of Friday nights spent at home reading and watching his dad’s old sci-fi books and movies) that, though he met new people every day, he wasn’t reigning in any new social contacts from his exploits with his ice cream truck. He yearned for a more close-knit community, and was kind of curious about what the “country” life was like. Both his parents and his former boss received supplies from Raccolto, he figured that was as good a place as any to try. Being a somewhat adventurous (if rash and naïve) kind of guy, he jumped into the idea whole-heartedly, (during the rare moment of uncertainty, he reminded himself that he could always come back home) and soon enough, he had saved enough money to make the trip.

Job: Business owner
Shop Name: Glacier Cones
Stock Type: Ice cream, frozen yogurt, cold drinks, shave ice

Dog/Cat Info:
:bulletpink:Race: Skitty
:bulletpink:Name: Cherry
:bulletpink:Gender: male
:bulletpink:History: One Autumn evening after work, Dante walked to a fast food restaurant for a quick bite. On the way back to his ice cream truck, heard a “nya” from an alleyway, and when he turned to identify the source of the sound, found a stray skitty behind a pair of trash cans. Kneeling down, he slowly gained its trust by tossing it pieces of his sandwich. Dante coaxed the little skitty into coming with him back to his truck, where he fed and cleaned it up. Dante wanted to keep the cute little cat, but first he made an honest effort to find the skitty’s owner. When that failed, Dante gleefully accepted the skitty as his own, and finally named him “Cherry” after the ice cream flavor that matched his fur.
:bulletpink:Diet: cream, fish, anything he catches

Talents:
:bulletblue: can stir the ice cream mix with his hand without heating it up due to his natural icyness
:bulletblue: plays a mean game of hacky sack, sometimes practices using Ice Shard
:bulletblue: knows how to swing dance like a boss (okay not really that well, but he learned once)
:bulletblue: is really flexible and nimble due to his practicing yoga every morning.

Funfacts:
:bulletblue: is able to put his foot in his mouth in the literal sense, as well
:bulletblue: his parents were hoping little Dante would evolve into a fire-type, like his mother, when they chose his name.
:bulletblue: Has been mistaken for a girl due to his slender figure, public displays of affection for his skitty, (and love of other cute Pokémon) and many of his choices of clothing, including a pink frilly work apron of his mother’s. He’s learning to live with it. (of course, this was back in his hometown, that wasn’t full of girly Harvest Moon guys)
:bulletblue: He has not read “Dante’s Inferno”, but he has heard of it and likes to make jokes about it. He considered using it as the title for his business, but decided the irony would be too confusing.
:bulletblue: styles his bangs to look more like an Articuno, and the little bit of dark blue in them isn’t natural
:bulletblue: Bisexual, with a preference for girls and feminine guys.
:bulletblue: practices yoga every morning before breakfast
:bulletblue: Likes to take photographs of events, things, and people, and keeps them all in a scrapbook.
:bulletblue: His dad turned him into a comic book and sci-fi fan, though he hasn’t kept entirely up-to-date with many of his geeky interests since leaving home.
:bulletblue: Tries to always have a good book around, so he can read a bit before going to bed.
:bulletblue: The bracelets he wears were a Christmas/birthday gift from his parents the year he evolved. They contain pieces of NeverMeltIce.

Likes: ALL THE FLAVORS! ice cream, Cherry (his skitty), frozen desserts, non-frozen desserts, other Pokémon, sweets in general, sushi, cooked fish, snow, tips, (free money, yay!) quality fruit, (that could be used to make ice cream) when he gets good photos, a good book about time-traveling alien robots in space

Dislikes: hot weather, spicy food, cheaply made and/or low-quality food, (especially ice cream and baked goods) grouchy people, being alone for too long

Moveset:
:bulletblue: Charm (breeding move)
:bulletblue: Quick Attack
:bulletblue: Ice Shard
:bulletblue: Mirror Coat

And now the actual artist's comments! (I'll try to keep this short)

I'm sorry, whichever mod(s) is/are reading this, that I wrote SO MUCH.

I was gonna write more but I have cookies to take out of the oven! AND THEN I WILL EAT THEM.

Edit: I know it's probably too late to change anything, but I just remembered what else I was gonna say. I mentioned in a note to the group that I wanted to have Dante to live in his truck, but I've decided the difference between home upgrades and business upgrades would be too confusing. (What is Harvest Moon mechanics? They didn't have those in AnWL...) Instead I'd rather he go ahead and have a house like every other normal person, and that it just be such a dump that at first Dante just uses it as a garage. ^^; If that's okay.

I can see it now...
